Merry Christmas!

Our judoclub has had an exciting year with a lot of new members joining our group at a great new facility, Easte Pointe. In the last year the club was able to purchase competition tatamis, a crashpad and other improvements. These turned out to be wise investments considering the number of students that started after August and it should have every competitor in our club better prepared for shiai.

We hope for continued growth and excitement in 2002 and wish you and yours all the best this holiday season.

Last class this year is this Thursday Dec 20th , don’t miss it it will be all judogames!
First class in ’02 will be Thursday Jan 4th and Jan/Feb will have all Mondays and Thursdays available.

Some of you received a coloring sheet with our club logo, there will be a contest with the winner receiving a prize. Have fun with it over the Christmas break and turn them in the first week of January.

Competition news: the state judo championships will be held in Tampa Jan 12th. If you plan to enter be smart and send in the paperwork before Jan 1st, it will cost you $35 instead of $45 at the door. Spectators usually have free entry and if you want to find out more about competition judo try to make it, if only to cheer on your teammates.

New: Women and girls selfdefense class taught by Dr. Greg DiFranza, see his flyer for more info.

The judoclub has space for 5 to 10 new students in every class. Help us grow by having friends come out and try out. You will be helping the club and as a bonus there will be a logo T shirt gift for everyone bringing in at least two new members that sign up!

Yours in Judo,
Sensei John Fiege
