Judo Ryu Jacksonville May 2002 Newsletter

Our very first home tournament was held Saturday, 4/27/02, and it was a success!

A great effort was made by upward of 30 volunteers.  127 competitors showed up for the event.

There were players from the US, Puerto Rico, Peru, Japan, Holland, France, Brazil and other South American countries.

We are very proud of all our judokas that participated,  especially the 17 kids that competed, of whom 10 won medals and all gained experience.

We’ve received very positive comments from people that attended that same day and since then through phone and email messages.  They all say our tournament was "Great!"

Thank you members, parents and friends for making it happen!

Belt Test    May 13 & 16 for all youth currently in 2^nd and 3^rd classes.

                    June 17 & 20 for all adults.

                    Cost: $25

Dojo closed    No Class May 27 & 30; July 1, 4 and 8
